Hie people!

I’m now in my room which is located on the 12th floor or FAR’s Trelease Hall at UIUC. FAR stands for Florida Avenue Residence. It’s air-conditioned and has a view of a sea of low rise buildings. Unfortunately I can’t take good pictures of the view from here cos there’s this black window mesh (like those that keep out mosquitoes) extending over the whole window. But I Love my room! It’s a single and has 2 chests of drawers n a table n a bed n a dustbin n a closet. Think my expenses for this year’s housing is gonna be expensive … cos I got a single … n cos its air-conditioned. Which other people usu dun have. I’m really lucky thou.

I’ve been here for a week plus now and have settled quite some stuff. I’ve registered for my classes and am taking about 5/6 classes this semester. For those interested in the codes, they are: ME 170, TAM 210, MATH 241, PHYS 214 (1st 8 weeks), PHYS 213 (following 8 weeks), ECON 102. My timetable is bad … start lessons at 8am on Mondays to Thursdays. On Friday it starts at 9am … And I have 3pm classes Everyday … how does that sound …

This place is really sunny during summer … which is now. I’m seriously darker than before I arrived here. There were quite a lot of activities before school started … like convocation n Quad day. Quad day is like CCA day liddat.

Anyway, back to my dorm … seems that there are about 55 gals on my floor … n I’m the only Singaporean, with 3 other Koreans. The rest are Americans. That’s the stats for now.

And yes! I got a new phone … I mean I’m sure u guys know what kinda phone I was using rite? The nokia 2100 … now I got a pink Motorola phone. Here it is!


Lessons started yesterday. I was so sleepy can …
Cos for the past few days I’ve been sleeping really late and waking up early. So on Wednesday I had 3 lectures … and I fell asleep for 2 of them
Today was better … I managed to stay awake for a longer time during lectures. still yawned and fidgeted.
There ain’t any ME 170 Discussion (ie. Tutorial) today so here I am in my room. But later at 4pm I still have ECON 102 Discussion. Disgusting timetable right?

Sorry to all the people I’ve been missing. I can’t log in for long to msn cos it keeps on hanging my computer. So haven’t been able to contact u guys. Anyway, my US hp number is +1217-819-9232. the plus one is the country code. As for my address … write to me! I’ll send it to your emails as soon as I confirm the correct format.

Last but not least. Thanks to everyone who came to send me off. (Sorry i dun have photos of some ... not in my cam) It was really sweet of you guys. Miss you guys a lot.

Will update more often now that school has started and i am supposed to be in my room studying. Btw, my hall has this "study star" thingy. It's like if the Person (in charge) sees you studying, she'll give you a "study star". And at the end of the semester, can use it to exchange for stuff ... i wonder what stuff i can exchange for thou. But it doesn't matter. I got one last night. I wasn't exactly studying. I was jus outside my room with some notes in my hands chatting with my neighbour when the Person came round.
